Adobe released RoboHelp 2017, the latest and greatest version of the popular help authoring tool. When you open RoboHelp 2017 for the first time, you may get the impression that this release is only minor. (The ribbon and pods from RoboHelp 2015 have been unchanged.) TCEurope Colloquium is a one day, free conference about technical writing. This year, the colloquium will be held on April 7th in Helsinki, Finland. The conference is a great chance to meet like minded professionals from all over Europe. The conference is also a great place to keep up to date with the latest trends in technical communication from both new and experienced speakers!
For large help systems, it is common to reuse content in the Table of Contents (TOC) when part of the system uses the same options and/or features.
For instance, you might need to include a common introduction for several modules. With RoboHelp, you can include a topic in multiple locations in the TOC, allowing for easy reuse.
Some time ago, a poster on the RoboHelp forum had issues with temporary files not being cleand up by RoboHelp. Fortunately, it is very easy to quicly delete all temporary files with the Windows command line. Not everyone knows the command line, but with a simple batch file, you achieve the same effect.

I just released a small update to the RoboHelp ExtendScript Library. You can now use methods and shorthands while working with scripting events. And I've included a function to get the text from a token, such as retrieving the text from a paragraph.
