With RoboHelp you can easily add images to your topics. You can just drag a topic from a directory in your topic. This works quite well, but unfortunately, when you insert an image that way, RoboHelp will save the image in the project root folder. This is no problem when you only have a handful of images. But a medium sized RoboHelp project will hold hundreds of images.
This image mover script will help you to take back control of your RoboHelp project. The script will index all images in your project root and find the topics where this image is used. When the image is used in a single topic, the script moves the image to the same directory as the topic. The script will then amend the topic so that the topic will point to the new image location. If an image with the same name already exists, the script will give the moved image a unique name.
I inherited a project with lots of images in the project root. I just ran the script and I could not be more delighted. It has done just what it said on the tin. It saved me at least a couple of days work!
